MIMO Skywave Radar Discontinuous Spectra Orthogonal Phase Coded Waveform Design

  • To increase the range resolution of MIMO skywave radar transmit waveform, in order to decrease the area of detection cell and increase signal clutter ratio (SCR) and target location accuracies, for the intermittent frequency band situations caused by poor operation environment full of a lot of interference, two orthogonal phase code waveform design methods are developed, the waveforms’ effective bandwidth is synthesized of several discontinuous clear frequency bands. The orthogonal phased code waveforms are generated by the iterative algorithm for getting phased code signal to satisfy desired frequency spectrum constraints. Exploiting the sensitiveness to the initial value, set different random initial value, a group of waveforms are obtained, the effectiveness of the waveform design methods are illustrated by the numeric simulaiton. Generally, the stronger the constraints are, the worse the waveforms performance including ACFs, CCFs and resolutions are. To adjust the constraints, satisfying waveforms will be generated. The frequency band source is fully exploited and the range resolution are increased by a wide margin.
