Power Consumption and Bandwidth Efficiency based Sensing Time Optimization Algorithm in Cognitive Radio Network

  • This paper mainly focuses on the influence of sensing time on power consumption and bandwidth efficiency of secondary users. The trade-off among above three parameters is studied in this paper. A new index function is constructed to measure the requirement for secondary users’ power consumption and bandwidth efficiency in different systems. And adjusting factors are introduced to choose an appropriate sensing time for different systems. Simulation results show that secondary users’ power consumption and bandwidth efficiency are decreasing function of sensing time and there is an optimal sensing time to achieve the smallest index function for the given adjusting factor.
