2-D DOA estimation of coherent signals based on the hexagonal array

  • A method of 2-D DOA estimation of coherent signals is put forward by extending reconstruction of the correlation matrix. Considered the structural feature of the hexagonal array, we can extend the array by getting the conjugate matrix of the receiving data of each array element, and the extended array can be divided into three hexagonal subarrays. On this basis, for implementing the estimation of coherent signals, we seeked autocorrelation and cross-correlation matrix of subarrays to expand and reconstruct the correlation matrice . The two dimensional MUSIC algorithm is used to estimate the direction of arrival of coherent signals. Under the condition of no reduction of the array aperture, the proposed algorithm can estimate more number of coherent signals and achieve better estimation performance. The computer simulations demonstrated the effectiveness of the algorithm.
