Robust Adaptive Beamforming Algorithm for Multiple Coherent SignalsReception

  • To receive multiple coherent signals effectively, a robust adaptive beamforming algorithm based on the beam main lobe magnitude constrained is proposed in this paper. Fully utilizing the direction of arrival (DOA) information of multiple coherent signals, the proposed method optimizes the receiving data covariance matrix estimator and constrains the beam main lobe magnitude of multiple coherent signals. Then the optimization problem of multiple coherent signals reception is described as an iterative Second-Order Cone Programming (SOCP) problem by the first order Taylor expansion. Thereby obtain the optimal beamforming weight vector. The novel approach can not only receive multiple coherent signals and suppress the interference signals and noises effectively, but also overcome the large steering vector mismatch and control the width and the ripple level of the beam main lobe flexibly in the robust response region. Simulations verify the correctness and validity of the novel approach.
