Precession Parameter Estimation for Ballistic Targets Based on Multi-aspect Range-Profile Sequence

  • Precession features are important feature source for target recognition in mid-course. Aimed to the problem of precession feature extraction for conical warhead, this paper analyzes the relationship among High Range Resolution Profile (HRRP) length, precession parameters and target’s structure parameters. Also, the observation model for multi-aspect high resolution radar is introduced. Based on this, an algorithm which utilizes the high range resolution profile (HRRP) sequences to estimate the precession feature and the structure feature jointly is proposed. And the Cramer-Rao bound (CRB) of the proposed algorithm is also deduced. The proposed algorithm can obtained the estimation of precession parameter without any prior information. Simulation results show that the presented method is effective and the deduced CRB is correct.
