Array Optimization and Orthogonal Codes Diversity For Near Space MIMO STAP

  • Near-space radar can implement high-resolution, large-swath imaging and Moving Target Indication(MTI) tasks. For the MTI function of MIMO Radar, uniform array can bring poor performance, sparse array will bring grating lobes which will lead to blind speeds, size-fixed platform limits the maximum length of the array, this paper proposes one array optimization method whose target is to lower the Minimum Detectable Velocity(MDV). Combining the joint optimized array structure together with binary phase orthogonal codes which are designed to get high autocorrelation and cross-correlation performance, high STAP performance is gotten with limited aperture length. Simulation compared different STAP performance of various array structure, thus testified the effectiveness of the method.
