Abstract:
The Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B), as a new surveillance technology, is being vigorously promoted by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). However, overlapping among multiple signals is inevitable because of the randomness of ADS-B signal transmission. In this paper, the Minimum Variance Distortless Response (MVDR) algorithm was applied to separate overlapping ADS-B signals received by single antenna. Firstly, the data that received by single antenna was transformed into virtual uniform linear array model, and then the overlapping signals could be separated by utilizing the MVDR algorithm in array signal processing. Because of the algorithm needs to estimate the frequency of the signal accurately, the frequency estimation error of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is large and the improved frequency estimation method can reduce it, so as to effectively separate the overlapped signals. The simulation results show that the algorithm is effective and insensitive to the relative time delay between signals.
