User-scheduling and Beamforming algorithm for the New Generation High-Throughput Wireless Local Area Network

  • According to Multi-user Multi-input Multi-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MU-MIMO OFDM) technology in the new generation high-throughput wireless local area network (WLAN), a multi-user scheduling and beamforming algorithm based on feedback mechanism was proposed for the high-throughput WLAN. Firstly, the feedback mechanism of the new high-throughput WLAN network was described. A precoding method based on partial channel state information (PCSI) was further developed. Then, based on the frequency-selective channels and the features that the user occupies all the bandwidth of the new generation high-throughput WLAN, a semi-orthogonal multi-user scheduling algorithm, considering the channels over all the bandwidth and based on the limited feedback channel state information (CSI), was proposed. In order to reduce the computational cost, a simple maximum eigenvalue multi-user scheduling algorithm was further proposed. It is shown that the proposed algorithm implemented the multi-carrier multi-user scheduling effectively. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve performance gains over that of stochastic scheduling algorithm.
