Pose Estimation Algorithm for Space Target Based on Linear Features Differential Projection

  • The pose estimation of space target is an important promise for space target recognition based on ISAR image. This paper proposes a pose estimation algorithm based on linear features differential projection for the problem that the detecting errors of linear features affect the estimation greatly when using their projection to estimate pose directly. First DP method is used to detect the linear features’ projections from the ISAR image. Then the differential projections of linear features are set up between the ISAR images that one is imaged by the measured data in the real pose and the other one is imaged by the emulated data in the estimated pose, which transforms the absolute errors to relative errors, and thus decreases the detecting errors’ effects on pose estimation effectively; meanwhile, we use the differential projection to get a pose correction and optimize the current pose estimation iteratively, and thereby continuously improves the accuracy of pose estimation. Some simulation experiments are made to verify the valid of our methods.
