A Robust Waveform Design Method for Dual-Function Radar Communication System Based on Amplitude Phase-modulation

  • ‍ ‍In order to overcome the deficiency of the existing radar-communication integrated system based on sidelobe level control, which requires high directional information of communication equipment, and effectively improve the communication information transmission capability of radar system, the robust design method of transmission weighting matrix of radar-communication integrated system is studied on the platform of multiple input multiple output (MIMO) radar. Firstly, in order to solve the distortion problem caused by the communication direction error, a robust optimization model of the transmission weighted matrix with the communication direction error was constructed under the constraint of the worst matching performance between the communication signal and the desired signal in the direction error set, and the cyclic algorithm and convex optimization method were used to solve the problem. Secondly, a communication information implantation strategy based on amplitude-phase control is proposed based on the joint mapping relationship of multiple synthetic signals in the communication direction. Due to the use of the amplitude and phase arrangement information of the synthetic signal, it is easier to realize the high-speed transmission of communication information than the traditional method. Finally, simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
