Fully Polarimetric Scattering Calculation of UAV Targets on Sea Surface by BRT-MOM-ILDC Method

  • ‍ ‍Alongside with the growing battlefield threat of the low-altitude, slow-speed and small-size electric target, worldwide attention has been paid to radar detection of the targets. In terms of simulation on full-polarimetric scattering characteristics about the low-altitude, slow-speed and small-size electric target on sea surface, it is necessary to conduct research on the impacts of clutter waves and fine-structure modeling. Considering these issues, in this paper, the high-frequency bi-directional ray tracking method (BRT), the method of moments (MOM) with its accelerated algorithm and the incremental length diffraction coefficient (ILDC) method were employed so as to achieve reliable electromagnetic scattering, when the target areas were divided into the large-scale area of high frequency, the electrical small area of low frequency and the edge area which needs theoretical analysis and calculation. Then, the multi-path method served as an addition to the coupling effect among targets and between target and sea. In that case, it is possible to realize efficient calculation and fast imaging about scattering characteristics of sea-surface targets. Simulation results demonstrate that these methods have a positive influence on the detection of the low-altitude, slow-speed and small-size electric target.
