Channel Model and Performance Evaluation for Communication Networks inside Tower Scenarios

  • Multipath effect is more serious in complex tower environment, a three-dimensional multi-path cluster channel model based on the ray tracing algorithm is proposed in this paper. In this model, each ray path is tracked by geometric method, and a large number of received rays are clustered to obtain the model parameters such as cluster delay and cluster power, so as to obtain the BER performance of wireless communication system. The channel model parameters, including propagation path, delay, received power, BER performance and other statistical characteristics, are analyzed for the real 3D tower environment. The numerical simulation results demonstrate that the theoretical results are consistent with the simulation results, which can accurately evaluate the communication performance of the tower environment, and can be effectively used to optimize the deployment and performance evaluation of sensor networks.
