Proactive load balancing based on interference coordination

  • The existing mobility load balancing algorithms do not utilize interference coordination to maintain users’ performance after offloading, resulting in serious interference to the users after offloading. And the reactive load balancing optimizes the future load balancing strategy according to the current network load. But the actual network load may have changed, leading to the degradation of load balancing performance. In this paper, a proactive load balancing algorithm based on interference coordination is proposed. Orthogonal resources are allocated to the cell edge users through fractional frequency reuse to coordinate the interference. In order to minimize the total resource consumption under the premise of meeting the data rate requirements of users and balancing the network load, proactive load balancing is carried out by predicting the large-scale channel information of users. Simulation results show that, compared with the existing load balancing algorithms, the proposed algorithm not only improves the resource utilization, but also reduces the drop probability of users.
