Research on Performance of Millimeter-Wave Heterogeneous Networks Based on User Equipment Classification

  • In order to solve the interference problem caused by base station clusters in multi-tier heterogeneous networks, this paper proposed a method that accomplished classification and modeling of user equipment(UE). Firstly, pico base stations, femto base stations and user equipment were constructed into independent non-homogeneous Poisson cluster process. And they were densely deployed in the communication hotspot area that consisted of the millimeter-wave two-tier heterogeneous networks; Then, combined with the features of millimeter-wave, the sector antenna model and the Line-of-sight ball propagation model ware established, meanwhile, the distributed distance of intra-clusters and inter-clusters interferences were provided; In addition, the analytical expression of downlink spectral efficiency based on UE classification and non-UE classification were derived by Laplace of interference and signal-to-interference plus noise ratio of UE, respectively. Finally, the simulation results show that the performance about the UE classification scheme surpasses the performance of the non-UE classification scheme, which can significantly improve the spectrum efficiency.
