Research on Method of 2-D Vector Beamforming for Polarized Smart Antenna

  • Aiming at the problems of matching reception and interference suppression of polarized smart antenna, the existing uniform linear array polarized beamforming method was extended to two-dimensional planar arrays, and a two-dimensional polarized beam based on second-order cone programming (SOCP) was proposed. In the plane of observation, polarization matching is designed to improve the system reception gain and the main lobe interference suppression ability in the main lobe region; the notch concave and polarization constraints are superposed to maximize the interference suppression ability in sidelobe region. Then the corresponding vector beamforming optimization model is established, and transformed into two equivalent scalar optimization problems solved by SOCP. The simulation results show that: compared with the existing uniform linear array polarization beamforming method, this method can realize the constraint optimization design of polarization beam in the plane of observation, including polarization matching in main lobe area and polarization constraints for notch concave in sidelobe area, and improves the engineering practicability of the polarized beamforming method.
