Wind Farm Clutter Suppression based on Rasterized Sparse Reconstruction

  • This paper studies a method of wind turbine clutter suppression based on rasterized sparse reconstruction, in order to remove the interference problem of wind turbine clutter on radar detection. Firstly, the echo signal model under wind turbine clutter interference is established. Then, according to analyze the difference of Doppler signatures between the wind turbine clutter and the target echo signal, the paper constructs the rasterized over-complete dictionary based on the wind turbine clutter feature. Later, the paper uses the orthogonal matching tracking algorithm (OMP) to update the dictionary based on the best atom which is chosen by OMP algorithm step by step. Therefore, the separation of the target and the clutter signal are realized based on the reconstructed wind farm clutter and the purpose of suppressing the wind turbine clutter is achieved. Finally, simulation results indicate that the method based on rasterized sparse reconstruction is valid and accurate by comparison with conventional fixed dictionary reconstruction method. Moreover, simulation results also indicate that it is suitable for WTC suppression in complex scenarios.
