Main-beam deceptive jamming suppression with non-adaptive beam-forming in FDA-MIMO radar

  • A small frequency increment is introduced across the elements of the frequency diverse array (FDA) radar, which results in an extra controllable range-dependent degrees-of-freedom (DOFs). By combining with the multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) technique, the transmit waveforms are separated in the receiver and the range-angle-dependent transmit steering vector can be obtained, which increases the flexibility of signal processing. In this paper, in order to solve the problem of main-beam deceptive jamming, a jamming suppression approach is proposed with the non-adaptive beam-forming in the FDA-MIMO radar. By selecting a proper frequency increment, the deceptive false targets which dwell at the null points of the beam-pattern can be effectively suppressed. Simulation examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
