Parametric detector design and analysis under the condition of steering vector mismatch

  • The mismatches of signal model determined at the design stage of detector and actual one lead to the degradation of detection performance. By parameterizing the detector, the tunable parameters can be used to control the level to which the signal to be rejected or detected. In this paper, the design methods for parametric detectors are classified into addend term method, product term method and exponential term method. The detection performance assessment is given for the detectors designed by different method. With the computer simulation, the adjustability and detection performance under matched or mismatched signal model are analyzed. The research results show that, parametric detector designed with addend term method can achieve more robust detection performance, and parametric detector designed with exponential term method can achieve more selective detection performance.
