Performance Analysis and Improved method of the Fast Correlative  Interferometer Direction Finder Using Guide Baselines

  • Fast correlative interferometer direction finder using guide baselines has a low computational complexity. This method can better solve the problem of computational complexity in two dimensional wideband channelized direction finding. To evaluate the performance of this algorithm, the expression of estimation error variance using arbitrary geometry configuration guide baselines is produced; the relationship between the estimation error variance and Crammer-Rao bound (CRB) is also analyzed. Furthermore, based on the uniform circular array, the method of direction finding is improved and a rule to choose de-ambiguity baselines is given. Through the simulation comparison of traditional correlative interferometer algorithm and pseudo-linear least square algorithm, the fast correlative interferometer algorithm has the advantage of low computational complexity as well as the accuracy and the robustness of de-ambiguity by choosing the right guide baselines and de-ambiguity baselines.
