Abstract:
An algorithm for parameter estimation of air maneuvering target in forward-looking airborne radar is proposed in this paper, which is based on Cubic Phase Transform (CPT) and matched filtering. Firstly, for improving the output signal-to-clutter-plus-noise ratio, the coherent integration operation was performed by compensating the spatial phase of the target’s return signal. Then, the parameters of to be estimated were separated by CPT, so the complexity of the method was reduced by dividing the joint two-dimensional estimation into two one-dimensional estimation. Finally, the parameters were estimated by reconstructing the target’s signal and matched filtering. The proposed algorithm is characterized by low complexity, and the performance of the parameter estimation reach the Cramér-Rao Lower Bound (CRLB) asymptotically under low signal-to-noise condition. Simulation results are included to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
