Abstract:
The performance of the cellular mobile communications system is limited to the effect of inter-symbol interference, co-channel interference and impulsive noise. This paper proposes a single antenna interference cancellation algorithm based on particle filtering. Firstly, the impulsive noise is modeled by Alpha stable distribution which could be expressed by Gaussian approximation, and then the joint posterior probability of the unknown channel parameters is recursively derived. Secondly, a delayed particle filtering method is introduced for the maximum a posterior estimates of the co-channel transmitted symbols. Theoretic deduction and numerical simulation results verify that the proposed algorithm could remove the effect of the inter-symbol interference and co-channel interference to the symbol detection. The proposed method outperforms the existing interference cancellation algorithms, especially in the case of existing strong impulsive noise and unknown channel parameters.
