Abstract:
On-board processing technology plays an important role in improving the quality of transmission and spectrum efficiency in satellite communications, and has become a new research hotspot in the satellite communications field. Though regenerative on-board processing technology has significant advantages, it suffers from drawbacks such as great technical difficulty, high complexity of equipment and low flexibility. The capacity of satellite communication systems is also limited by the complexity of equipment. To overcome these drawbacks, a non-regenerating processing technology, which combines Continuous Wave Time-Division-Multiplexing technology and program-controlled circuit switching, was proposed. The possibility of supporting IP services was testified. The conclusion was that one-hop transmission of the strong real-time IP services can be realized by the relaying equipment based on Continuous Wave Time-Division-Multiplexing and stored program controlled circuit switching, the capacity of satellite communication systems can be improved and the complexity of the satellite equipment can be reduced.
