Abstract:
Detection of multiple unresolved targets is a frontier topic and pressing task in radar technology field. A signal fusion method of the T/R-R hybrid bistatic radar is presented, target echo signal models of the monostatic radar receiver and the bistatic radar receiver are established, aiming at two-dimensional plane situation, the signal fusion model is presented based on range information and used to detect multiple unresolved targets with maximum likelihood method, and the effects of SNR, number of targets, target fluctuation, detection threshold and hybrid bistatic radar geometrical configuration on the detection performance are analyzed. The Monte Carlo simulation results based on different scenarios identify the validity of the method. By theoretical analysis and simulation experiments, ranges between targets and both receivers, interference from the targets in the different range bins merely affect the detection performance, the primary factors which affect the detection performance consist of SNR, number of targets, target fluctuation, interference from the angle unresolved targets in the same range bins and detection threshold; and that the detection method is presented under the assumed condition of Swerling II target, but it is still suitable for Swerling 0 and II target.
