Abstract:
A traditional L-shaped array carries out direction-of-arrival estimation with reduced sensors compared with a planar array,but the performance is restricted by fact aperture.This paper combines a traditional L-shaped array and MIMO techniques,and a new 2-D direction-of-arrival estimation method is proposed.By virtual arrays of MIMO,the L-shaped array is equivalent to a rectangle planar array through filters,and direction-of-arrival estimation is carried out using MUSIC based on this equivalent planar array.The performance of a rectangle planar array is obtained from the L-shaped array.The Cramer Rao bound (CRB) of 2-D DOA estimation is analyzed theoretically,and simulations show that the proposed method is effective.
