Abstract:
Because of outstanding advantages of low in cost and deploying easily, Bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar (BiSAR) system based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) has been developed fast for the past few years. But limited by the weak echo signal energy, it has only obtained experimental results about a little bit small imaging scene now, which is caused by the fact that navigation signal is low in transmitting power. In this paper, a large scene imaging strategy utilizing multiple navigation satellites based on GNSS-BiSAR system is presented. A high-quality and large scene image can be achieved after collecting echo signals from multiple navigation satellites in different angles and then stitching multiple images together. Furthermore, an imaging experiment based on BeiDou-2 navigation satellites was carried out and the experiment result attaching image interpretation is showed. The experiment result verifies that the GNSS-BiSAR system has a great development potential in remote sensing imaging application.
